Stainless steel clad plate is a composite steel plateformed by metallurgical bonding of a carbon steel base layerand a stainless steel cladding layer. It combines themechanical strength of carbon steel with the corrosionresistance of stainless steel, and is widely adopted in themanufacturing of petroleum, chemical, coking and power equipment.
The base layer generally adopts carbon steel grades such as Q235B and Q355B.The cladding layer can be selected from stainless steel materials including 304, 316L,310S, 2205 and 1Cr13, with freely combinable thicknesses for both layers
This material is manufactured by explosive cladding or hot rolling processes:
Explosive cladding is suitable for thick plates and bonding of special metals, yet it
brings environmental pollution risks; the hot rolling process features high production efficiency and can produce thin plates and coils.
The product supports hot pressing, cold bending, cutting, welding and othermachining processes. Its interfacial shear strength exceeds 400 MPa. The cold rollingprocess can produce high-precision coils with a thickness of 0.6 mm and aboveReplacing solid stainless steel plates with clad plates cuts costs by over 30%. It greatlyextends the service life of equipment such as bolted tanks, desulfurization towers, denitrification towers and coal bunkers, and is also applied in wastewater treatment, construction formwork and other scenarios.
